Crossfitters focus on building all areas of fitness because in life and we strongly believe that specialists are not fit because they can only function in their specialty. A marathon runner very rarely has the strength to deadlift their own body weight or the anaerobic capacity to do 75 burpees. Likewise a bodybuilder often would “tank” on a 20 km run and a yoga specialist likely couldn’t do 20 chin-ups. It is our belief that you are only as fit as your weakest component of fitness.

There are ten recognized general physical skills, and they are all practiced regularly with CrossFit. You are as fit as your competency in each of these ten skills.
